Suppose the length and the breadth of the cuboid are 8x cm and 7x cm
∴ Here, 8x × 7x × 5 = 1120
⇒ ${\mathit{x}}^2$ = $\frac{1120}{280}$ = 4 = ${\left(2\right)}^2$
⇒ x = 2
∴ Length of the cuboid = 8 × 2 = 16 cm
Breadth of the cuboid = 7 × 2 = 14 cm
Hence, it is clear that length of the cuboid exceeds the breadth by 2 cm.
