12 spheres of the same size are made from melting a solid cylinder of 16 cm diameter and 2cm height. Find the diameter of each sphere.

Solution:

Here,

12 × 4/3 πr^3

π× 8^2 × 2

⇒

r^3

{64×2}/{16}

= 8
∴ r = 2 cm
Hence, diameter of each sphere = 2r = 2 × 2 cm = 4 cm
