Solution:

Let x m/hr be the speed of the flow of water; then
Volume of water flowed in 5 hrs. = 225 × 162 ×

{20}/{100} m^3

Hence, volume of water flowed in 1 hr =

{45×162}/{5}

= 9 ×

162 cm^3

since,

{60}/{100} × {45}/{100} × x

= 9 × 162
∴ x =

{9×162×100×100}/{60×45}

= 5400 m/hr.
