Solution:

The mean of 100 items = 46
Sum of 100 items = 4,600
An item 16 was misread as 61 and another item 43 was misread as 34.
So, the sum of the new items is
= 4,600 - (61 - 16) + (43 - 34)
= 4,600 - 45 + 9
= 4,564
Number of items = 90
Correct mean

=454/90=50.7
