Solution:

a/ x+ y/ b =1

and

b/ y+ z /c =1

⇒a/x=1-y/b={b-y}/b

∴x/a=b/{b-y}

Similarly,

c/z=y/{y-b}

Now,

x/a+c/z=b/{b-y}+y/{y-b}

={b-y}/{b-y}=1
