Saurabh invested in all Rs. 2600 at 4%, 6% and 8% p.a. simple interest. At the end of the year, he got the same interest in all the three cases. What is the money invested at 4%?

Validate

Solution:

Let Saurabh invested Rs. x, Rs. y and Rs. z at 4%, 6% and 8% respectively; then

{x×4×1}/100={y×6×1}/100={z×8×1}/100

⇒ 2x = 3y = 4z

Hence,

y = 2/ 3 x

and

z = 1/ 2 x

Now,

x+2/3x+1/2x=2600

⇒x=1200
