If an amount becomes thrice in 25 years, then in how many years will this amount be five times of itself?

Solution:

Let the principal be Rs P.
Then, amount = 3P, SI = 2 P., T = 25

∴\Rate ={100×SI}/{P×T}

={100×2P}/{P×25}=8%

Now, Principal = Rs P, Amount = 5 P, SI = 4 P

∴\Time ={100×SI}/{R×P}

={100×4P}/{8×P}=50\years
