Let A’s income be Rs 3x and expenditure be Rs 5y.
Let B’s income be Rs 2x and expenditure be Rs 3y.
3x - 5y = 1,000 ...(1)
2x - 3y = 1,000 …(2)
3x - 5y = 2x - 3y
x = 2y
3(2y) - 5y = 1,000
6y - 5y = 1,000
x = 2(1,000) = 2,000
∴A’s income = Rs 3x = Rs 3(2,000)  = Rs 6,000
