Money received by ‘R’ = Rs 4,000 more than received by Q
So, money received by P = $\frac{3}{15}$ of x
Money received by Q = $\frac{5}{15}$ of x
Money received by R = $\frac{7}{15}$ of x = 4,000 + Q
So, $\frac{7}{15}\mathit{x}=4000+\frac{5}{15}\mathit{x}$
$\frac{7}{15}\mathit{x}-\frac{5}{15}\mathit{x}=4000$
$2\mathit{x}=4000\times 15$
$\mathit{x}=30,000$
Total amount received by P and Q $=\frac{3}{15}\mathit{x}+\frac{5}{15}\mathit{x}=\frac{30000}{5}+\frac{30000}{3}$
= 6,000 + 10,000
= Rs 16,000
Total amount received by P and Q is equal to Rs 16,000.
