Let the quantity of water to be added further be x litres.
Then, milk : water $=\left(\frac{39}{26+\mathit{x}}\right)$
So, $\frac{39}{26+\mathit{x}}=\frac{2}{3}$ $\left(26+\mathit{x}\right)2=117$
$52+2\mathit{x}=117$
$\therefore \mathit{x}=32.5$
So, quantity of water to be added is 32.2 litres
