Half the number of students of the first school, two - thirds of the second, three-fourths of the third and four-fifths of the fourth are all equal. What is the ratio of the number of students of A to D, if A, B, C and D be the first, second, third and fourth schools, respectively?

Solution:

There is a total of 43,800 students in 4 schools of a city
Let’s say

(1/2\of A=2/3 \of B

=3/4\of C =4/5\of D =1)

Where A, B, C, D are the first second, third and fourth schools respectively

1/2=2/3=3/4=4/5=1

So,

2:3/2:4/3:5/4

Ratio is 24 : 18 : 16 : 15.
Ratio of A to D is 24 : 15 is 8 : 5.
