A, B and C together earn Rs 7,650 and spend 80%, 85 % and 90% of their salaries respectively. If their savings are in the ratio 4 : 5 : 6, find the salary of B.

Validate

Solution:

20% of A’s salary = 4
∴ A’s salary

=4×100/20=20

15% of B’s salary = 5
∴ B’s salary

= 5×100/15= 100/3

10% of C’s salary = 6
∴ C’s salary

= 6 × 100/10= 60

So, salary ratio of A, B, C =

20 : 100/3 : 60

= 60 :100 :180
= 3 : 5 : 9
∴ B’s salary = Rs

5/17× 7,650

= Rs 2,250
