A cloth merchant marks up his goods by 30%and while measuring the cloth, he always measure 10% less for every metre. Find his profit per cent.

Solution:

Let CP of 100 cm = Rs 100
MP of 100 cm = Rs 130
SP of 100 cm = Rs 130
But he actually gives 90 cm of cloth.
So, actual CP = Rs 90
Profit per cent

={130-90}/90   ×100=44 4/9%
