If it is assumed that the wholesaler sells 20 notebooks to Umang at the normal price and 5 extra note books for Rs 30 each, what is the percentage of discount given by the wholesaler to Umang?

Solution:

CP of 25 notebooks at the normal rate = 25 × 120 = Rs 3,000
SP of 25 notebooks

= (20 × 120 )+( 5× 30 )

= 2,400 + 150 = Rs 2,550
Discount per cent

={3000-2550}/3000×100=15%
