A box contains 15 oranges and 25 apples. How many apples must be added to the box, so that 75% of the total fruits are apples?

Solution:

Let x apples be added.

∴{15+x}/{25+x}=75/100=3/4

4 (15+x) =3 (25 +x)

60 + 4x = 75 + 3x

4x - 3x = 75 - 60

4x - 3x = 75 - 60

x = 15
