Vincent's monthly income is 30% more than that of James. James's monthly income is 20% less than that of John. If the difference between the monthly incomes of Vincent and John is Rs. 800, what is the monthly income of James?

Validate

Solution:

Let monthly income of James and Vincent be Rs. 100 and Rs. 130 respectively, then monthly income of John

= 100/80×100

= Rs. 125
Difference between monthly income of Vincent and John = 130 - 125 = Rs. 5
Now, if difference is Rs. 5, then monthly income of James is Rs. 100
Hence, if difference is Rs. 800, then monthly income of James will be =

100/5× 800

= Rs. 16000
