Solution:

Let the numbers be 3x and 7x.
Then,
50% of 3x = 48

50/100×3x=48

x=48×2/3=32

∴ The numbers are 3x = 3 × 32 = 96
and 7x = 7 × 32 = 224
Hence, their product is 21,504.
