Solution:

Puja’s monthly salary = 7,800
Varun got an increment of 12 per cent of Puja’s monthly salary.
So, the increment =

{7,800× 12}/100

= Rs 936
Varun’s monthly salary the before the increment = Rs 6,400
Varun’s salary after the increment = 6,400 + 936 = Rs 7,336
Total amount he earns in four months = 7,336 × 4 = Rs 29,344
