Solution:

The number of literate males

= 20/100×60/100× 1000 = 120

The number of literate females

=25/100 × 1000- 120

= 250- 120 =130

Total number of females =

40/100 ×1000 =400

Required percentage =

130/400 ×100 = 32.5%
