A, B and C started a business with the investment of Rs. 5000, Rs, 6000 and Rs. 4000 respectively. A is an active partner and therefore he gets 30% of the profit separately. Rest of the profit is divided in the ratio of their capitals. If at the end of year, A’s profit is Rs. 200 more than the sum of the profits made by B and C, find the profit made by each of them.

Validate

Solution:

Ratio of capitals of A, B and C = 5000 : 6000 : 4000 = 5 : 6 : 4
Let total profit in the business = Rs. x ; then

30/100x+5/15×70/100x

-(6+4)/15×70/100x=200

⇒8/15x-7/15x=200

x=3000

Hence, A's profit

={8× 3000}/15

= Rs. 1600;
B's profit =

6/15×{7 ×3000}/10

= Rs. 840;
C's profit =

4/15×{7 ×3000}/10

= Rs. 560
