Solution:

Let Mr Kumar’s investment be Rs x.
Then, Mr Kaul’s investment = Rs

x/2

Mr Verma’s investment = Rs

x/3

So, ratio of their investments

= (x × 12) : (x/2×8): (x/3×6)

12x : 4x : 2x
6 : 2 : 1
∴ Mr Kaul’s share

= 2/9× 17,100

= Rs 3,800
