{ \P’s \share} /{\Q’s\share} ={\Q’s \share}/{\R’s \share}

={ \R’s \share}/{ \S’s \share} =1/4 .

Find the share of P, if the profit is Rs 8,50,000.

Solution:

P/Q:Q/R:R/S=1/4

P/Q=1/4

Q/R=1/4

∴ P : Q : R = 1 : 4 : 16

Q/R=1/4

R/S=1/4×16/16=16/64

∴ P : Q : R : S = 1 : 4 : 16 : 64

Now, P’s share

=1 /85 ×8,50,000

= Rs 10,000
