Solution:

Ratio of their investments = (18,000 × 12) : (21,000 × 8)
= 2,16,000 : 1,68,000 = 9 : 7
∴ Required difference

= {9 -7}/{9+7} ×6,000

= 2/16× 6,000

= Rs 750
