A reception party was held in a five star hotel and the charges per plate were as many rupees as the number of plates used. The total charges came to be Rs. 15129. How many rupees were charged per plate?

Validate

Solution:

Let the no. of plates = x
then cost of one plate = x
∴ cost of total plate

= x × x = x^2

By the question

x^2 = 15129

∴x=√15129

=√{123×123}=123.
