Solution:

Let the required fraction = x
then, by the question

x÷7/9-x×7/9=8=21

⇒x×9/7-{7x}/9=8/21

⇒{32x}/63=8/21

⇒x=8/21×63/32=3/4

Hence, the correct answer

=3/4×7/9=7/12 .
