Find the largest integer in the group of three consecutive integers if the sum of their squares is 50.

Solution:

Let the three integers be (x - 1), (x), (x + 1).

(x-1)^2+x^2+(x+1)^2=50

x^2-2x+1+x^2+x^2+1+2x= 50

3x^2= 48

x^2 = 16

x = 4.

So, the largest integer = x + 1 = 5
