Of the three numbers, the first is twice the second and thrice the third. If the average of three is 22, the three numbers are—

Solution:

Let the third number

= x

∴ First number

= 3x

, Second number

={3x}/2

∴1/3[x+3x+{3x}/2]=22

⇒11/2x=66

⇒x={66×2}/11=12

= Third number,
12 × 3 = 36 = First number,

{12×3}/2=18=

Second number.
