Solution:

Let the length of the rectangle = x m.
Breadth = x + 8 m
Perimeter = 2 (l + b)
⇒ 2(x + x + 8) = 180
2(2x + 8) = 180
4x +16 = 180
4x = 180 −16
4x = 164
x =

{164}/4

= 41
Length = 41 m
Breadth = 41 + 8 = 49 m
Area = l × b
= 41 × 49 = 2,009 square meters
