Solution:

Area of the rectangle =

(x^2+7x+10)cm^2

x^2

+ 2x + 5x + 10
= x (x + 2) + 5 (x + 2)
= (x + 5) (x + 2)
Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(l + b)
= 2((x + 5)+ (x + 2))
= 2(2x + 7)
= 4x +14 cm
