There are five bells which start ringing together at intervals of 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 seconds respectively. In 36 minutes, how many times will the bells ring simultaneously?

Solution:

Five bells which start together at intervals of 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15.
The LCM of 3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 = 180
All the bells ring together after an interval of 180 seconds.
In 36 minutes, the number of times they ring together

={36 ×60 }/180

= 12 times
