The product of two numbers is 4107. If the H.C.F. of these number is 37, then find the greater number.

Solution:

Let the two numbers be

37x

and

37y

Now,

37x × 37y = 4107

∴ xy = 4107/{37 ×37}=3

Then co-primes with product 3 are (1, 3)
Hence, geater number

= 37 × 3 = 111
