Solution:

In ΔACD,

{AC}/{CD}=\tan60°

{AC}/20=√3

AC=20√3m

In ΔBCD,

{BC}/{CD}=\tan45°

{BC}/20=1

BC =20 m

Length of the flag = AC - BC

=20√3-20=20( √3-1)m
