Solution:

BC = 7.2 cm
AB = 4.8 cm
BX = 2 cm
AX = AB - Bx
= 4.8 - 2.0 = 2.8 cm

Length of XY =

{AX}/{AB}

{XY}/{BC}

{2.8}/{4.8}

x/{7.2}

{2.×7.2]/{4.8}

= x
x = 4.2 cm
