Solution:

11.98 × 11.98 + 11.98x + 0.02 × 0.02

(12)^2 = (11.98 + 0.02)^2

= (11.98)^2 + (0.02)^2 + 2 × 11.98 × 0.02

= (11.98)^2 + (0.02)^2 + 0.04 × 11.98
