A tailor has 142.5 metres of cloth and he has to make 10 pieces out of a metre of cloth. How many pieces can he make out of 142.5 metres of cloth?

Solution:

Length of each piece

=1/10m=0.1m

∴ The required number of pieces

=142.5/0.1=1,425
