Solution:

If x = number of questions asked in NDA test, then, x = number of question asked in MBA test, 2x = number of question asked in NDA test and MBA test taken together.
Now, 10% of x = number of Mathematics questions in NDA test,
21.7% of x = number of Mathematics questions asked in MBA test,
Thus, the per cent of two types of questions that is on Mathematics in MBA test will be

{(0.10)x+(0.217)x}/{2x}

={0.10+0.217}/2

= .158 or 15.8%
