The average of 15 numbers is 35 and the average of 16 numbers is 36. Find the average of all the numbers taken together.

Solution:

Total sum of 15 numbers = 15 × 35 = 525
Total sum of 16 numbers = 16 × 36 = 576
∴ Required average

={525+576}/{15+16}=1101/31=35.51
