Of the four numbers, the first is twice the second, the second is one-third of the third and third is 5 times of the fourth. The average of the number is 24.75. Which is the largest of these number?

Validate

Solution:

Let four numbers be

x,x/2,{3x}/2

and

{3x}/10

respectively.
Now,

1/4(x+x/2+{3x}/2+{3x}/10)=24.75

⇒3x+{3x}/10=99

⇒33/10x=99

⇒x=30

Hence, the largest number

={3x}/2=3/2×30=45
