Of the three numbers, the first is twice the second and the second is twice the third. Find the numbers, if the average of the reciprocal of the numbers is 8/ 96.

Validate

Solution:

Let the third number be x.
Then the second number = 2x
First number = 4x

∴1/x+1/{2x}+1/{4x}=8/96×3

7/{2x}=8/32

8 × 4x = 7 × 32

x=7

So, the numbers are 28, 14 and 7.
