Solution:

Total distance covered by the train = 800 km.
Average speed

={\Total \distance }/{\Total \time }=800/16

= 50 km/hr
Let the speed of the return journey = x
Then speed of onward journey = 1.25x
Now

{\2.x.1.25x}/{x+1.25x}=50

x=45
So, the speed of the train in the onward journey = 1.25 × x = 1.25 × 45 = 56.25 km/h.
