Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are 40 m and 30 m respectively. If one diagonal of the parallelogram measures 50 m, find its area.

Solution:

Here,

50^2

40^2 + 30^2

∴ Two triangles, i.e., ΔABC and ΔADC are right angled triangle.

∴ Area of parallelogram ABCD = 2 × Area of Δ ABC = 2 ×

1/2

× 40 × 30 = 1200 sq. m.
