A circle and a rectangle have the same perimeter. The sides of the rectangle are 18 cm and 26 cm. Find the area of the circle.

Solution:

Perimeter of rectangle = 2 (18 + 26) = 2 × 44 = 88 cm
Since, radius of the circle =

{88×7}/{20×22}

= 14 cm
Hence, area of the circle =

{22}/7

× 14 × 14 = 616

cm^2
