The perimeter of a square is 24 m and that of another is 32 m. Find the perimeter of a third square, area of which is equal to sum of the areas of these two squares

Validate

Solution:

Side of the 1st square =

{24}/4

= 6 m
And side of the 2nd square =

{32}/4

= 8 m
Now, area of the third square = 62 + 82 = 36 + 64 = 100 sq. m.
∴ Side of the third square =

√{100}

= 10 m
Hence, Perimeter of the third square = 4 × side = 4 × 10 = 40 m.
