Suppose sides of the triangle are 17x m, 15x m and 8x metres ∴ Perimeter = 17x + 15x + 8x = 40x
Now, 40x = 40
⇒ x = 1 m
Therefore, the sides are 17 × 1 = 17 m, 15 × 1 = 15 m and 8 × 1 = 8 m
Since ${\left(17\right)}^2$ = ${\left(15\right)}^2+{\left(8\right)}^2$, i.e., it is a right angled triangle
∴ Area of the right angled triangle = $\frac{1}{2}\times 8\times 15$ = 60 sq. m.
