We have

x + 1/x= 3

Squaring both sides

x^2+1/x^2+2=9

x^2+1/x^2 =7

∴{x^3+1/x}/{x^2-x+1} ={x(x^2+1/x^2)}/{x(x-1+1/x)}

=7/{3-1}=7/2
