Two years ago, the ratio of Ram's and Mohan's age was 3 : 2 and at present 7 : 5. What are their present ages?

Solution:

Let the present ages of Ram and Mohan are 7x and 5x years; then

{7x-2}/{5x-2}

⇒ 14x – 4 = 15x – 6
∴ x = 2
Hence, their present ages : 7 × 2 = 14 years and 5 × 2 = 10 years
