₹ 800 becomes ₹956 in 3 years at a certain rate of interest. If the rate of interest is increased by 4% what amount will ₹ 800 become in 3 years?

Solution:

(b) S.I. = ₹ (956 - 800) = ₹ 156;
P= 800. T = 3 yrs.

=[{100×156}/{800×3}]%=6.5%

New rate = (6.5 + 4) = 10.5%
New, S.I = ₹

[{800×10.5×3}/100]=₹252

∴New amount = 800 + 252 = 1052
