A milestone chart depicts key events along a timescale. It is used for top level reporting so that management does not become bogged down in the minutia of the projects. A milestone chart can contain various colors or markings that indicate status. It can also contain other information related to the project(s), like customers, responsibility, duration, phase of the milestone, etc.
