A burndown chart shows how much work is left to finish the project; it can also show the tasks remaining in the current iteration. The team decides what is going to be measured on a burndown chart: hours, stories, iterations, etc. The other responses are incorrect because a burndown chart doesn’t show the number of people leaving the project team, nor the amount of completed test scripts. In addition, based on the number of tasks completed, a burndown chart can hint as to when a project is likely to be completed, but its primary goal is to show the amount of work left to do in the project. There are other existing matrices that show how many test scripts have been run, team members’ status, or a calendar for the team to schedule their time off.
