A fuse wire, used in electrical appliances is made up of Alloy of lead and tin due to their high resistence and low melting point. The tin and lead alloy is a mixture consisting of $62\%$ tin and $38\%$ lead, which melts at ${183}^{\circ }\mathit{C}$.
Fuse wires are electrical safety devices that operates to protect electrical appliances from over current protection of an electrical circuit. As higher amounts of current flows through the fuse, it melts, breaking the circuit and flow of current.
